Seaside Farms HOA was experiencing major erosion and sedimentation of their stormwater pond banks.  Instead of dredging the entire pond system, SRG began work using natural materials and native plants to fix the problem before dredging was needed.  SRG graded and reshaped the banks, installed coconut coir mating and logs, and planted native plants in the water and up the bank of the pond.  The matting and logs will stabilize the bank and prevent further sedimentation until the native plants can take root and spread.  The native plants serve to stabilize the bank, prevent erosion, slow the flow of water going into the pond, allow for ground water recharge, help to remove pollutants and fertilizers before going into the pond, and create a diverse ecological habitat.
